What to know about Jamieson Place.

Jamieson Place is a west-end Edmonton neighbourhood on the city's western edge, planned under the West Jasper Place South Area Structure Plan. Callingwood Road bounds it north, Anthony Henday Drive and 184 Street east, and 45 Avenue southeast, with 57 Avenue as the collector road. Farmland annexed during Edmonton's westward growth, it was planned in 1980 and built from the early 1980s into the early 2000s, and is named for Edmonton lawyer and Alberta legislator F.C. Jamieson.

Single-detached houses on looped streets and cul-de-sacs dominate the stock, with a few semi-detached and row-house sites; the south end came later, after land there was redesignated for row and semi-detached housing in 2008. Most homes date from the 1980s and 1990s, and tenure leans to owner-occupied houses.

A central school and park site holds Michael A. Kostek School, an Edmonton Public K-6 school that lists Jamieson Place — confirm your address with the school division's attendance finder, as boundaries change. Jamieson Park, stormwater ponds and a north-south pipeline greenway give local green space, and shopping is nearby at The Marketplace at Callingwood. There is no LRT here; buses run on the arterials.

For buyers, Jamieson Place offers an established west-end neighbourhood of single-detached houses with fast Anthony Henday access and greenway space, but it is car-dependent, has no LRT and offers little within walking distance beyond the school and park. For sellers, the mature stock, cul-de-sac streets and school site appeal to families, though it competes with newer west-end communities.
