Neighbourhood Guide
What to know about Goodridge Corners.
Goodridge Corners is the northwest corner of Edmonton, where the city meets Sturgeon County. The June 2025 consolidation of the Goodridge Corners Neighbourhood Area Structure Plan puts the plan area at about 259.1 hectares, bounded on the north by the Edmonton and Sturgeon County line, on the west by the Canadian National Railway Westlock line, and on the south and east by Anthony Henday Drive.
The plan takes its name from James Goodridge, who served on Edmonton's first town council and helped establish the first school district. South of the Henday, the plan's context map shows Elsinore, Canossa, Albany and Rapperswill. The plan requires a 30 metre separation between the railway right-of-way and any dwelling, with a safety berm and noise fence parallel to the tracks.
East of 127 Street, the plan records provincial institutional land: the Edmonton Young Offender Centre, the Edmonton Remand Centre, wetland NW 7018, and farmland. West of 127 Street it described agriculture, a tree farm, and a residential yard near the southern boundary. Housing densities in the plan are highest near the centre, beside a future arterial, with open-space nodes and greenways through the rest.
The City of Edmonton open-data release of the 2021 federal census records 1,320 residents in Goodridge Corners. The count is filed under neighbourhood number 3490, in the Northwest district and the Anirniq ward. The census figure is the 2021 count, not a current population.
School designation for an address in Goodridge Corners comes from Edmonton Public Schools or Edmonton Catholic Schools, not from this page. Each division publishes an address lookup because attendance areas change. A school or park site named in a neighbourhood plan is a designation. It is not a statement that a named school is open.
