Neighbourhood Guide
What to know about River's Edge.
River's Edge is Riverview's third neighbourhood, between the Henday and the river valley. The January 2026 consolidation of the River's Edge Neighbourhood Structure Plan covers about 420 hectares. A realigned 23 Avenue NW and Anthony Henday Drive bound it on the north, the river valley on the east, Quadrant Avenue SW on the south, and a realigned 199 Street NW on the west.
Council adopted the plan as Bylaw 17270 on September 22, 2015. Bylaw 20613, approved October 3, 2023, replaced the working name Riverview Neighbourhood 3 with River's Edge. Bylaw 21358, approved January 28, 2026, extended the neighbourhood south to Quadrant Avenue, added an urban village park, added residential sites at several scales, and added two stormwater ponds.
The City of Edmonton open-data release of the 2021 federal census neighbourhood file does not include a row named River's Edge. The City neighbourhood dataset lists it as neighbourhood number 4469, in the West Henday district and the sipiwiyiniwak ward.
School designation for an address in River's Edge comes from Edmonton Public Schools or Edmonton Catholic Schools, not from this page. Each division publishes an address lookup because attendance areas change. A school or park site named in a neighbourhood plan is a designation. It is not a statement that a named school is open.
