What to know about Bannerman.
In 1961 the Bannerman area, along with much of present day northeast Edmonton, was annexed to the City of Edmonton. Bannerman is one of several residential neighbourhoods in the Clareview district. Edmonton City Council approved the Clareview Outline Plan in May 1972, and much of the residential land in Bannerman was developed during the 1970s.
The community's educational and recreation facilities are conveniently located at the centre of the neighbourhood. Interior residential streets are designed to provide efficient traffic flow to and from Bannerman. A variety of commercial businesses are located at Clareview Town Centre on Victoria Trail, while a LRT station is located north of 137th Avenue.
The City of Edmonton open-data release of the 2021 federal census records 2,770 residents in Bannerman. The count is filed under neighbourhood number 2030, in the Northeast district and the Dene ward. The census figure is the 2021 count, not a current population.
School designation for an address in Bannerman comes from Edmonton Public Schools or Edmonton Catholic Schools, not from this page. Each division publishes an address lookup because attendance areas change. The City neighbourhood profile describes parks, housing and streets. It is not a school-boundary map.
