What to know about Tussic.

Bylaw 2598 covers about 320 acres. The south edge is 79 Avenue, also Highway 628. The west edge is Golf Course Road. The east edge is Veterans Boulevard, also Range Road 275. Adopting the plan removes the southwest quarter of that section from the older South East Area Structure Plan, which the town had adopted in 1983.

South Creek's plan area lies north of Tussic's southeast quarter. The Edgeland area structure plan lies to the northeast. Lake Westerra Estates lies to the southwest. The name Tussic is taken from tussock, a small grassy hill, as a reference to the land rather than a translation.

The plan is a residential neighbourhood with a range of dwelling types, local commercial service, and recreation. Roads and multi-use paths are meant to tie it into town. The concept puts day-to-day commercial service inside the neighbourhood, with parks and trails linking to the areas next door.

Atim Creek is the natural feature the plan keeps. The concept realigns and restores parts of the creek and its riparian area, and folds that corridor into stormwater management and the trail network. This page does not copy a population figure from South Creek or Lake Westerra.
